    PROCEDURES/GRADING

    1. An assignment will be made daily.  It will be checked by me for completion at the beginning of class the following day and then we will grade it.  I need to be able to see that you have tried EVERY problem in order for you to receive full credit-even the problems you aren’t sure how to work.  You will receive:
      1. 10 points for a completed paper
      2. 5 points for a paper that is NOT complete but is at least ฝ completed
      3. 0 points for a paper that is less than ฝ completed

     

    1. Criteria for Full Credit: work done in pencil, problems worked in columns, completed paper, all work shown, and heading at the top right of your paper.

     

    1. Late work will be accepted for up to 3 days. Only 5 point will be given for any completed paper that is turned in for late credit.  It is YOUR responsibility to keep up with what you have not turned in.

     

    1. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to get your class notes from another classmate and to find out the assignment.  The assignment will be posted daily on the bulletin board by the door. 

     

    1. If you are going to miss class because of a school sponsored trip, you will need to get your assignment before the absence.

     

    1. We will be keeping a notebook in class that will be due at the end of the quarter.  It will be worth 100 points toward your homework points.   Therefore, it is to your benefit to keep it up to date.  I will keep a copy of the table of contents posted.  Please bring a folder with brads and pockets for this notebook.

     

    1. The daily average is computed by weighting the tests 80% and the homework 20%.  The final quarter grade is computed by weighting the daily average 75% and the 9-weeks test 25%.  The semester grade is figured by averaging the two 9-weeks grades for that semester.  (Whew!)

     

    1. We will at times be using a calculator in class.  You are welcome to bring your own or you may pay a 1-time $2 fee if you would like to use a school calculator.  As a department, we recommend the TI-30X IIS.

     

    1. If at anytime during the school year you feel you need extra help, I am available before school.  Come on by!
