Welcome to World History!!!!

What to expect in the upcoming week…

 

April 14th – 17th

Testing over the presentations of the tribes of the Americas.

Native American Project

 

You and your partners are responsible for finding the following information:

 

P – Political – what type of government did the tribe have set up? Who was in charge? How was that person chosen? What type of rules were the tribe members expected to follow? What punishments were given for those that broke the rules?

 

E – Economic   What items did they trade for? Who did they trade with? Did they pay taxes? What type of animals did they depend on? Did they travel? How did they get around from one area to the next?

 

R – Religion – Who did they worship? Monotheistic or Polytheistic? Prayer? Sacrifices? Religious ceremonies? Festivals?

 

S – Social Class – Was the tribe divided by class? What was the order from highest to lowest? Were men and women equal? What was expected of each group? Was there any type of security or protection for the empire(army)?

 

I – Intellectual Achievements – What type of educational system did the tribe have? An alphabet? A type of coin money? Collecting taxes? What were some inventions or innovations that the tribe came up with? What type of technology did they use to help them advance or survive?  Tools, infrastructure (roads, bridges, canals), methods of transportation……

 

A – All the other stuff – You have to include a map of the empire showing where in the Americas the empire was located. You have to include visuals of art works of the empire. You have to include the population of the empire at its largest point. You also have to include what happened to the empire to lead to its demise.

 

Your powerpoint should be between 12 and 15 slides long. Each category should be at least two slides.  You will present the powerpoint together as a group. Split up the information, do the research, and then put the powerpoint together as a group. You will be teaching the class about the tribe you have chosen.  This assignment is equal to a test grade.

25% - Good use of time in the computer lab. Staying on task.  Not messing around!!!!

50% - Powerpoint – working together and including all information. Teamwork.

25% - Presenting your part of the assignment to your classmates.

 

After all presentations are finished the class will take a test over ALL tribes. It is important to copy the notes from the powerpoint while your other classmates are presenting their information to you.
